Stalin was not the first of his family to have rebellious tendencies. Stalin's great grandfather, Zaza Dzhugashvili was a vanguard of many peasant revolts against the Czar. He was arrested three times and sent to jail; from which he escaped each of those three times.
Other than this "disgrace" of a grandfather, Beso, Stalin's father was just another Russian attempting for his family to become assimilated, once again, into Russian society. Beso found Keke.
Stalin's parents, "Beso" and "Keke", were just about the perfect couple. Envied by their neighbors, and loved by friends. "Our families happiness is limitless" Keke would say with pride. Beso and Keke were gloriously married and soon Keke was impregnated with her first son.
Two months later Beso and Keke's good fortune began to fade with the death of their son. Again the couple tried for a child but their second son died of measles one year after birth. Beso soon started habitually drinking to cope with their sudden misfortune. Desperate to regain any sort of happiness, Beso and Keke tried again for a third baby.
